Coaching all endurance athletes

Jen has coached endurance athletes full time since 1999, working with athletes of all ages, abilities, and experience levels. As a USA Triathlon Level III coach—one of only 43 in the country—she brings decades of experience, but her approach is simple: get to know the athlete first. Every training plan is built around your goals, your race, your schedule, and the life you are actually living.

Coaching Services

Four ways to work with Jen: individual 1:1 coaching, immersive training camps, focused skills clinics, and mentoring for coaches.

Individual Coaching

1:1 Coaching

Personalized coaching for athletes who want an individualized approach to training, racing, and long-term development. Jen works directly with each athlete to build a training plan around their goals, experience, schedule, strengths, limitations, and life outside of sport.

Training is adjusted as the athlete progresses, because good coaching is not simply following a plan. It is knowing when and why to change it.

From first-time triathletes to experienced athletes pursuing PRs, qualification, or World Championship goals, 1:1 coaching provides the highest level of individual attention, communication, accountability, and expertise.

1:1 coaching for every distance

Whatever the distance or the sport, Jen coaches it. Tell her what you are training for and she will build the plan around it.

Multi-Day Training

Camps

Triathlon camps are an opportunity to train, learn, and immerse yourself in the sport with an experienced coaching team and like-minded athletes. Camps can focus on specific goals, from building endurance and race preparation to improving swim, bike, run, and race-day skills.

These are not simply training weekends. Camps combine purposeful workouts with coaching, education, technique work, and race strategy, in an environment that allows athletes to focus on their development. Whether you are preparing for a major race or simply looking to take your training to the next level, camps provide an experience you take home with you.

Skills & Knowledge

Clinics

Clinics are designed to address the skills and knowledge that make a meaningful difference in an athlete's performance. Swim technique, open-water skills, bike handling, transitions, running mechanics, fueling, pacing, race strategy, and other sport-specific topics can all be addressed through focused instruction and practical application.

With more than two decades of coaching experience across swimming, cycling, running, and triathlon, Jen brings a practical, experienced perspective to clinics. The goal is simple: give athletes information they can understand, skills they can practice, and tools they can actually use.

For Coaches

Mentoring

Mentoring is designed for coaches who want to learn from decades of real-world experience in endurance coaching. It provides an opportunity to discuss the day-to-day realities of coaching, from athlete communication and training decisions to retention, business development, difficult situations, and building a sustainable coaching practice.

This is not about creating coaches who all coach the same way. It is about helping coaches develop their own philosophy, improve their decision-making, and gain confidence in their craft. Mentoring can be structured around specific questions or challenges, or developed into an ongoing relationship for coaches who want continued guidance and perspective.

Questions athletes ask

Do you coach beginners?
Absolutely. Beginners are some of Jen's favorite athletes to coach. If you are new to the sport or coming back after time away, she will meet you exactly where you are and build from there.
Can you help me build confidence as a newer athlete?
Yes. A lot of Jen's athletes start out unsure of themselves. She builds the plan so progress comes in steps you can see, and confidence grows from real work you have actually done.
Do you work with experienced athletes?
Yes. From age-group podiums to Kona and World Championship qualifiers, Jen coaches seasoned athletes chasing the next level, with plans that respect the training history you already bring.
Can you help me if I'm not trying to qualify for a championship?
Of course. Most of Jen's athletes are chasing personal goals, not podiums. A first finish, a PR, or simply staying healthy and consistent are all goals worth building a plan around.
Do you coach masters athletes?
Yes. Jen coaches many masters athletes and understands how training, recovery, and life shift over time. Plans are built to keep you strong, healthy, and racing for years to come.
Do you work with athletes returning from injury or setbacks?
Yes. Jen has guided many athletes back from injury, illness, and time away. She starts where you are today and rebuilds carefully, with patience and a plan that protects the long game.
Do I need to have a specific goal before contacting you?
No. If you are not sure what is next, that is a good place to start. Part of the first conversation is figuring out what you actually want out of the sport.
Which sports and distances do you coach?
Triathlon at every distance from sprint to Ironman, plus running and ultra, cycling, and swimming as single-sport focuses. If you are training for an endurance goal, Jen can coach it.
Where are your athletes located?
Everywhere. Jen coaches athletes across the country and around the world remotely, alongside a strong group of athletes in the Chicagoland area.
Do you coach athletes outside of Chicagoland?
Yes. Most of Jen's athletes train outside Chicagoland. Coaching runs through Training Peaks, so you get the same plan, feedback, and support wherever you live.
Can I work with you remotely?
Yes. Remote coaching is the core of how JHC works. Your workouts, data, and Jen's feedback all live in Training Peaks and sync to your devices, so distance is never a barrier.
How do you deliver workouts?
All coaching is delivered through Training Peaks. Your daily workouts, training data, and Jen's feedback live in one place that syncs to your watch, bike computer, and phone.
How do I get started?
Send an inquiry with your goals and your next race, then book a consult call on Calendly. It is a real conversation about your goals and whether Jen is the right fit, not a sales pitch.
